first i thought i could just wedge a window pole out of the window with my cup on the end but i just couldnt get the angle right
this was a problem and nearly ended in some broken crockery which would be bad
but then i remembered the magic arm i just bought and Voilà
one elegantly extended cup extended into the evening rain
but then stopped raining so we'll have to wait a while for the it to fill....

when I started this, I was a little concerned that it wouldn't rain... and then I remembered we're in England!! How silly of me!
I didn't have a spare cup so had to improvise a cup-like holder by cutting a plastic milk carton in half and weighing it down with a stone.
And, oh my goodness, did it rain!!
