The Interesting Games Festival 2008
igfest is the festival of interesting and experimental games. igfest #1 took place in Bristol from 19th-21st September 2008 as part of the Bristol Community Festival.
What are Street Games?
Freed from screens and boards, players of these games roam the streets hungry for fun. One game may see you fleeing over Pero's bridge with a Pac Man ghost on your tail, another has you playing snakes and ladders up and down the stairs and slopes of a multi story car park.
Street games are a new and unique type of social game experience. Many of the games use mobile technology to help locate the games in real spaces. All of these games are fantastic ways to create new relationships both between the players and the spaces they play in.
Why?
igfest is about people having fun, a lot of fun, old and young, game players and non game players alike. Because play should not be lost, it's a liberation we all need. These new type of games will have us all playing together across the city. So come along and play nice.
Who?
igfest was programmed by iglab and Simon games.
